Long Beach, CA (Seattle, WA)

. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform Quality Representative (QR) duties in support of remote certifications and/or Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) on-site quality activities. Some examples of those duties include: performing on aircraft installation applicant conformity inspections, test setup inspections as an applicant, issuing FAA Form 8130-9 Statement of Conformity, acting as an agent for our airline customers issuing FAA Form 8130-6 Application for US Airworthiness Certificate, conducting remote off-site facility evaluations, site-startup activities, site surveillance and/or corrective action verification.
Must be able to qualify as a Boeing ODA Inspection Unit Member (I-UM), meeting the requirements of the Boeing ODA Procedures Manual Section 5.1.4 and FAA Order 8100.8().
Selected candidate will already possess Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Inspection Unit Member (I-UM) authorizations to perform the duties required, or show they meet the requirements to enable the initiation of the ODA candidate application process.
Duties will include, performing on-aircraft prototype installation conformity inspections, test set ups, and part conformity inspections at supplier and off-site facility locations; perform Type Inspection Authorization (TIA), as well issuing Special Airworthiness Certificates in the Experimental category and reinstating the Standard Airworthiness Certificate upon completion of testing.
This position will require the candidate to have flexible hours when necessary to support organizational operations, and to support projects and programs located in other locations worldwide. This may include domestic and foreign travel with the expectation of being flexible to work varying assignment requirements, which can range from business trips (days, weeks) to short term (month(s)) or long term (year +) assignments.
Be knowledgeable of FAA regulations and guidance to ensure compliance.
Understanding and working knowledge of Corrective Action Board (CAB) reviews, in-service discrepancies and resolution, and process improvement initiatives.
Interfaces with company employees, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.
Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation, ensuring solutions are consistent with organizational goals and objectives.
Performs work with minimal direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Participation in periodic audits of various areas and aspects of the business and/or organization to ensure compliance to process and procedural standards.
Be knowledgeable with the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM) methodologies.
Knowledge and understanding of metrics, models, charts, and graphs.
Executes departmental and organizational goals and objectives to ensure continued success and improvements.
Supports processes and systems that ensure the reliability, quality and system safety of company or procured products and services.
Supporting departmental self-evaluation requirements through periodic self-auditing to ensure compliance to the Quality Management System.
Support project improvement efforts, lean and process improvement initiatives to ensure continuous improvement to achieve organizational and company objectives.
Support processes and procedure initiatives to ensure continued improvement and compliance efforts are maintained.
Be knowledgeable with Safety Management System (SMS) and the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Ensure compliance to the Records and Information Management (RIM) requirements.
Be knowledgeable in ISO9000/AS9100 Quality requirements, Six Sigma & lean methodology, to include problem solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis/Corrective Action/Preventative Action principles.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Currently hold or ability to obtain an FAA ODA Unit Member qualification
Knowledge, understanding and the ability to read, navigate and interpret engineering drawings and data is a must.
5+ years of experience with various aircraft installations/inspection (structure, interiors, avionics, electrical, etc.
5+ years of experience with FAA Conformity requirements/determinations
5+ years of experience in implementing process and/or strategy improvements
5+ years of experience working within FAA regulations
5+ years of experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions
Ability to travel 50-70% of the time
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is preferred
1+ years of experience auditing to quality system standards
Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS)
1+ years of experience in performing risk assessments and risk management
Travel
This position will be required to travel approximately 50+% when called upon to support on-site project activities.
This position will require the candidate to have flexible hours when necessary to support organizational operations, and to support projects and programs located in other locations worldwide.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary Pay Range: $79,380- $147,420
