The Sr. Quality Tech will co-lead calibration process, lead test and inspection for quality issues, support supplier quality issues, support to Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing. The primary focus of this position will be to execute all quality initiatives to reduce negative impact to our customers. In this function, you will: Participate in the failure mode analysis on failed units and root cause identification. Assist with material/product issues with various vendors Troubleshoot non-conformances, product defects and process scrap utilizing structured problem-solving methodology and tools such as 8D, 5-why, PDCA, pareto analysis, etc. Develop, modify, and maintain quality data collection activities and test/data collection databases. Support routine tests/inspections of finished product, work-in-process and raw materials, and compares results against specifications to determine quality status. Participate in internal audits of manufacturing processes, control plans, work instructions, and process documentation Perform assembly inspection of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures Support production personnel on quality related issues/ data collection/measurement tool issues Evaluate existing measurement and documentation for changes and enhancements. Perform computer operations: use Microsoft Office tools, Minitab and other computer software to access drawings, bills of material, and ERP systems such as SAP, Q-Pulse and ITS Support Quality department in the creation of process maps, control plans, checklists as required by change of source, process, or design High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. Minimum of one year of experience as a Quality Technician. Minimum of two years of Transformers Manufacturing experience or equivalent manufacturing experiences. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Minimum of 1 year of experience working in quality assurance Internal ISO Auditor Experience Assembly Line Lead experience Relevant experience in shop operations such as machining, assembly, fabrication required as well as manufacturing systems such as Lean, Shop Floor Control, MRP, routings, BOMs, SPC, Ability to follow established working procedures, be responsible for his/her own work, and work under minimal supervision and instruction. Ability to meet or exceed quality and quantity standards and keep work area clean and orderly. Ability to contribute suggestions for methods or product improvement. Ability to use good judgment when explaining procedures and test results to customers through demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to flex shift hours to cover second shift when necessary Proven proficiency with hand inspection tools and equipment including thread gages, micrometers, calipers; ability to train others. Problem solving in 5whys, 3D, 8D, etc.. Incoming inspection skills Knowledge of calibration process ISO and internal audit process knowledge Understanding of production scheduling and product flow Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
