We are seeking a driven and relationship-focusedSeniorRecruiterto manage the full-cycle recruiting process while serving as a trusted advisor to both hiring managers and employees. This role goes beyond filling positions—you will play a critical part in shaping the candidate experience, strengthening our workforce, and supporting new hires throughout their journey with the company.
Position Overview
TheSenior Recruiteris responsible for full life cycle recruitment, from job requisition creation through onboarding and post-hire engagement. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs, develop strategic hiring plans, and deliver top talent across a variety of construction and corporate roles.
This individual will also act as an advocate for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company and maintaining engagement beyond the hiring process while providing leadership and direction to the recruiting function.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and workforce planning strategies.
Develop and post detailed, accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
Utilize innovative sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates across multiple channels.
Screen applicants and conduct phone and in-person interviews.
Guide candidates through the hiring process, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
Coordinate and schedule interviews; prepare interview materials and questions.
Collaborate with HR and leadership on offers, including compensation recommendations and start dates.
Analyze market trends, compensation data, and candidate availability to remain competitive.
Support new hire onboarding and employee engagement initiatives, including orientation and recognition programs.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Serve as a point of contact for applicants and employees, addressing inquiries and escalating as needed.
Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as required.
Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, and recruiting initiatives.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes and candidate experience.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, coach, and develop the recruiting team to achieve hiring goals and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
Establish individual and team performance expectations, monitor recruiting metrics, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Conduct one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development planning for recruiting staff.
Assign and prioritize recruiting workloads to ensure timely and effective hiring across all business units.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
Train recruiters and hiring managers on recruiting best practices, interviewing techniques, employment compliance, and candidate experience standards.
Partner with HR leadership to develop workforce planning strategies, succession planning initiatives, and long-term talent acquisition goals.
Analyze recruiting metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements, increased efficiency, and enhanced hiring outcomes.
Qualifications
Proven ability to develop and execute recruiting strategies across multiple roles.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing, mentoring, or developing recruiting professionals or HR team members.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities.
Knowledge of employment laws, hiring practices, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience preferred.
Previous experience leading or supervising a recruiting or talent acquisition team preferred.
Experience recruiting within the construction industry (operators, CDL drivers, laborers, foremen, mechanics, and related skilled trades) strongly preferred.
