PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for all customer service duties, sales, taking loan applications, closing and documenting loans, reviewing loan packages, and relationship management while reaching or exceeding established goals. Master the New Peoples Bank delivery process and product knowledge to develop customer relationships by performing the following essential functions.
The following essential duties do not cover an all-inclusive list of work requirements. Individuals will perform other job-related duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences or otherwise balance the workload.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all New Peoples Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts.
2. Demonstrate a helpful, professional, friendly attitude at all times and commitment to the high customer service standards expected at New Peoples Bank.
3. Serve as customers' single point of contact on all New Peoples Bank products and services.
4. Identify and match customer product needs with New Peoples Bank products and services by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs including making referrals to other staff members and departments to ensure customer needs are met.
5. Meet and often exceed performance goals and actively participate in all sales campaigns.
6. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and all other ancillary products offered by the bank; answers customer questions, provides account opening information, and ensures that proper paperwork is completed and entered on the computer system.
7. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships.
8. Implement all sales strategies, including new products and services developed by management.
9. Process consumer lending requests accurately and efficiently with all appropriate paperwork and reporting requirements completed according to New Peoples Bank loan policy and regulatory compliance.
10. Service customers by processing a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors according to established New Peoples Bank policies and procedures; including but not limited to: accepting checks for cash and deposit; processing payments for loans and other services; maintaining logs and processing “subject to count” and mailed deposits; completing incoming and outgoing wire documentation.
11. Issue cashier checks, processes coin, and orders customer checks according to New Peoples Bank policies and procedures; assessing appropriate fees for all services.
12. Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate and proof cash drawer upon completion of assigned shift to ensure compliance with New Peoples Bank standards policies. Seeks assistance as needed to resolve proof discrepancies.
13. Maintain thorough knowledge of vault policies and procedures, perform vault duties, oversee drawer limits and perform cash verifications of all currency in and out of vault including preparation and verification of Fed currency shipments.
14. Handle customer complaints or questions and determine whether manager input is needed.
15. Research, correct and re-issue new debit cards for customers with unauthorized transactions or lost/stolen cards including PIN re-issue in adherence to New Peoples Bank policies and procedures including accurate filing of necessary paperwork.
16. Assist customers with ITM related issues, daily ITM balancing procedures and night deposit procedures.
17. Assist with weekly balancing and stocking of ITM located at branch.
18. Perform security function by opening and closing bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds. Maintain knowledge of all security procedures and equipment.
19. Participate in all meetings, bank functions and customer appreciation/community involvement functions as requested/assigned by supervisor.
20. Work in a team setting on various projects including employee contests, sales programs, etc.
21. Adhere to established standards and policies and procedures.
22. Deliver strong community visibility.
23. Process and balance proof work as scheduled.
24. Assume authority to approve General Ledger tickets and Check Cashing Approval schedule in compliance with New Peoples Bank policies and procedures.
25. Ensure availability of self to perform any function within the Branch as required for dual control purposes.
26. Verify RB logs for accuracy.
27. Complete holds and stop payment forms for checking and savings accounts as requested.
28. Order, verify and distribute branch supplies, also reorganizes work areas as needed.
29. Process and monitor customer charge-offs (accounts, other losses and charge offs, etc.)
30. Pursue personal development opportunities to improve knowledge as it relates to the position, compliance, and the Bank in general.
31. Provide updates and pertinent information to RB’s in reference to RB Operations Manual.
32. Maintain customer confidentiality in accordance with New Peoples Bank policies.
33. Serve as mentor for Relationship Bankers coming out of training until a level of mastery of job function has been achieved.
34. Train employees in any and all essential functions and duties required to reach level of mastery.
35. Travel to other branches as needed to ensure proper staffing.
36. Lead by example and assist Relationship Banker Supervisor with special projects as requested.
37. Master the Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the Relationship Banker III job design.
38. Regularly refresh knowledge of and familiarity with online, mobile, electronic and traditional products and services. Regularly practice/rehearse customer conversation and engagement skills around the entire suite of New Peoples Bank products and services. Invite customer respect by demonstrating product and service knowledge and engaging customers around the benefits of using them.
39. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a two-year college with an Associate’s degree in Finance/Management or related field preferred, over five years of banking experience with one-three years of CSR/Teller or loan officer experience involving constant public contact or general banking experience involving lending in an administrative capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Must successfully complete required training.
