Job Description - Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response

JB for Governor is seeking a Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response. The Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response will be a key player in rapid response operations, including fact checking, pushback, and other collaborative efforts with the Communications and Digital teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Write rapid response research documents with precision and attention to detail
Lead fast paced research projects in response to breaking news and happenings in the race
Fact check opponents’ claims and statements
Collaborate with the communications and digital teams on cross departmental projects
Develop accurate backup documents for polling and paid media
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 cycles of opposition political research experience. Rapid response and/or campaign research experience strongly preferred.
Extreme attention to detail, even under tight deadlines
Strong grasp of strategic messaging and the role of research in achieving communications goals
Mastery of standard research bullet writing
Experience with LexisNexis, court records retrieval, campaign finance analysis, and other public records research
Excellent writing and communication skills
Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
Experience managing interns or researchers a plus

This position is based in Chicago, Illinois but can start remotely, with the expectation that the Senior Research Associate, Rapid Response relocate. The salary for this position starts at $90,000.
