Job Description - Senior Revenue Cycle and Accounts Receivable Specialist

At Terra Fertility, we are reimagining fertility care. Our mission is to make reproductive health more accessible and equitable through transparent pricing, innovative technology, and comprehensive patient education. We believe that everyone—regardless of background, language, or identity—should feel informed, empowered, and supported on their fertility journey.

 Position Overview

Terra Fertility is seeking a highly experienced Senior Revenue Cycle & Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing team.

This is not a traditional billing position. We are looking for an individual with deep healthcare revenue cycle experience who can independently manage complex claims, resolve denials, analyze reimbursement trends, identify operational improvements, and help optimize the financial performance of the practice.

The ideal candidate brings strong healthcare billing expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced specialty medical environment.

This position reports to the Revenue Cycle Lead and works closely with patient financial coordinators, practice leadership, clinical staff, and insurance payers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex and high-value accounts receivable balances.
  • Perform detailed payer follow-up on unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims.
  • Drive timely resolution of aging accounts and reimbursement delays.
  • Monitor collection performance and identify opportunities to improve cash flow.

Denials Management & Appeals

  • Lead investigation and resolution of denied and underpaid claims.
  • Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to identify recurring denial trends.
  • Collaborate with clinical, authorization, and registration teams to reduce preventable denials.

Revenue Cycle Analytics

  • Monitor key performance indicators including days in AR, denial rates, first-pass claim acceptance, payer turnaround times, and collection yield.
  • Develop reports and provide actionable recommendations to improve reimbursement performance.
  • Identify payer-specific trends and escalation opportunities.

Claims & Payer Strategy

  • Manage claims through the full reimbursement lifecycle.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payer policies, reimbursement issues, and claim resolution.
  • Partner with leadership to address systemic payer challenges and optimize reimbursement processes.

Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement workflow improvements to increase efficiency and collections.
  • Assist with development of SOPs and staff training.
  • Support ongoing scaling and optimization of Terra's revenue cycle operations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35–$45 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Professional development opportunities

Employment Details

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Hybrid following training on-site in Dedham, Massachusetts

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare billing and accounts receivable experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in denials management, appeals, and payer follow-up.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle metrics and reimbursement analysis.
  • Experience working with EOBs, ERAs, clearinghouses, and payer portals.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in fertility, reproductive health, surgical, oncology, infusion, or other specialty medical billing environments.
  • Experience working with high-dollar claims and complex insurance benefits.
