Job Description - Senior Risk Analyst - Cyber Security - Positive Work Culture

We have partnered with our client in their search for a a Senior Risk Analyst with Cyber Security experience who will act as a manager of the department (not a people manager) and own it within the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience building these processes and driving compliance within a small, fast-growing organization that requires the utmost collaboration. You will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of IT practices with the organization's overall business strategy and objectives. This role requires a solid understanding of IT operations and a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for the business and its' customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT governance policies and procedures
  • Monitor IT operations to ensure compliance with governance standards and regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to conduct Business Impact Analyses and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to promote a culture of governance and risk management
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure governance standards are followed
  • Track and report on IT governance performance, making recommendations for improvement where necessary
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and regulations, and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders
  • Perform other related job functions as assigned

Skills Required

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in IT governance or a related regulated field
  • Five (5) years of experience conducting risk assessments/audits against established requirements
  • Eight (8) years of experience using a PC; Microsoft Suite; Social Media; Web-Browsing
  • Advanced level using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of:
    • IT operations and governance practices at an advanced level
    • Regulatory compliance frameworks, such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001
    • Advanced risk assessment techniques and methods
    • Project management methodologies and tools
  • Skilled in:
    • Presenting information in a clear and professional manner
    • Preparing reports using data collection, analysis, and risk assessment techniques
    • Reading comprehension, active listening, and verbal/written communication
    • Critical and strategic thinking - judgment and decision making
    • Building interpersonal work relationships
    • Strategizing solutions using collaboration and problem-solving approaches
    • Driving accountability, being a self-starter, responsible, confident, and self-assured in making decisions
    • Time management - work independently and as part of a team to prioritize work according to importance, urgency, value, and risk
  • Ability to:
    • Apply standards and regulations to ensure compliance
    • Make clear decisions that are timely and protect the organization
    • Multitask between projects and meet tight deadlines
    • Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
    • Adhere to policies, procedures, and instructions
