Are you an experienced safety professional who excels at managing complex projects with independence and expertise? Join us as a Senior Safety Consultant II and play a key role in advancing safety and security across transit systems. In this position, you’ll conduct hazard analyses, accident investigations, and compliance reviews; develop and deliver safety training; and collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure projects meet regulatory standards and industry best practices. You’ll manage task-level work independently, produce high-quality documentation, and provide technical leadership that strengthens project outcomes and promotes a culture of safety.

Essential Functions
- Lead and support safety and security programs for transit systems, including hazard analysis, OSHA compliance, and accident investigations.
- Provide technical expertise in safety certification, project management, and engineering processes related to transit operations.
- Conduct safety and security audits, risk assessments, and investigations to ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to internal teams and external partners.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for transit safety, security, and project controls management.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on safety and compliance findings.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Transit safety and security practices; OSHA/FTA/industry standards; safety certification processes; accident investigation and root-cause methods; hazard/risk analysis techniques.
- Task planning, scheduling, and controls; documentation management; quality assurance.
- Clear written and verbal communication; stakeholder facilitation; concise, actionable reporting.
- Sound judgment, proactive problem-solving, attention to detail, and reliability in meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and common project/task tracking platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program related to the assigned tasks.
- Have a minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in the areas commensurate with
associated tasks.
- Of the 7 years of experience, have a minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in the
areas of transit safety and security, transit project management, engineering, project controls management, safety and security certification, training, OSHA compliance, hazard analysis, accident investigations for public transit systems, or commensurate experience in their professional discipline.
- Two or more of the following credentials:
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- SMS Principles Certificate
- TSSP Certificate for either Bus or Rail
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in safety, systems engineering, transportation, or project management.
- Experience supporting federally funded or large transit/infrastructure programs.
- Experience coordinating with regulatory bodies and multi-disciplinary teams in client-facing environments.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to QA/QC of technical deliverables.

Compensation
• $100 – $110 hourly, depending on experience, ability, and capability.
