Position Title: Sr. Technical Sales Engineer

Job Brief:

We at Danieli are “One Stop Shop Solution” for all steel major players around the world. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Sr. Technical Sales Engineer to help us grow our service business in the North American Market. The Sr. Technical Sales Engineer for Long Products supports, develops, and delivers the sales process in accordance with the agreed business plans.

Tasks and Day-to-Day in the role:

• Work with customers to maintain or develop sales of spare parts. Present all requisitions to contract administration to be developed and processed.
• Respond to and follow up sales inquiries by Email, telephone, and personal visits
• Maintain up to date information on competitors slab caster technology in term of process/ equipment design/ maintenance
• Promoting Danieli technology, Danieli Service products and Service activities to Clients
• Preparing technical and commercial proposals in accordance with Customer requirements
• Preparing/ studying new technical solutions
• Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support and liaison
• Supporting foreign colleagues from other divisions during technical and commercial negotiations, quickly reporting to the HQ in Italy
• Maintain, develop and update customer database
• Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information from marketplace, including competitor information
• Carry out competitor and customer surveys
• Liaise and attend meetings with customers, world-wide to promote and explain the technical solutions and philosophies
• Attend commercial negotiation meetings with customers world-wide, adhering to agreed company pricing policy rules
• Adhere to local and external relevant health and safety laws and policies
• Plan and manage the effective and necessary conversion of weights, sizes, values, and quality standards interpretations between various systems and territories
• Manage language and communications translations issues and activities as necessary to enable effective communications
• Monitor of Service job execution and progress, with the capability to keep make decisions in case of fast reactions needed
•  Work within usual/customary MS office software; i.e. Excel, Word, Project Management, Publisher, to perform assignments. Organize Outlook Personnel folders to store specific email correspondence
• Ability to use smart phone to communicate with managers, colleagues and customers

Skills and Must Have's:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering 
• Minimum 5 years solid technical knowledge and experience on Rolling Mill (Long Product) related maintenance and production issues preferred
• Able to solve most technical issues with minimum direction
• Able to communicate technical issues effectively to customers
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Above average communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolutions skills
• Experienced at dealing with multiple activities with minimum direction
• Must be able and willing to travel 45% +
