Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Functional Specialist with deep expertise in SAP PTM (Plan-to-Manufacture) to lead manufacturing process optimization, execution improvement, and SAP-enabled transformation initiatives across enterprise operations. This role will serve as the functional lead for PTM capabilities within a complex manufacturing environment, driving end-to-end design, configuration, deployment, and support of SAP solutions in S/4HANA.
 

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience supporting production planning, shop floor execution, manufacturing analytics, and process standardization across plant operations. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders, plant leadership, and IT teams to improve yield, throughput, visibility, and operational efficiency. Experience with SAP IBP is strongly preferred, while exposure to SAP BTP and RTR is considered a plus.
 

This role will also support broader enterprise initiatives by helping integrate SAP with non-SAP platforms, reporting tools, and operational systems to enable seamless, data-driven execution across the business.

Key Responsibilities

SAP PTM Functional Leadership

· Lead and support the full Plan-to-Manufacture (PTM) lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

· Serve as the SAP functional lead for manufacturing operations, ensuring PTM capabilities align with business goals and plant execution needs.

· Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions that improve operational performance and process consistency.

· Provide subject matter expertise across production planning, manufacturing execution, shop floor processes, and manufacturing analytics.

· Drive adoption of SAP best practices across manufacturing teams and support change management as new capabilities are introduced.

Manufacturing Process Optimization

· Partner with plant leadership and operations teams to standardize manufacturing processes across sites.

· Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement across planning and production workflows.

· Implement SAP-driven solutions to improve yield, throughput, cycle time, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

· Enable greater production visibility through system enhancements, KPI reporting, and real-time performance monitoring.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives by aligning business processes with SAP capabilities and operational best practices.

IBP & Planning Integration

· Collaborate with planning and supply chain stakeholders to align SAP IBP demand and supply planning with manufacturing execution.

· Support initiatives to improve forecast accuracy, production scheduling, and cross-functional planning integration.

· Help bridge planning and execution processes across SAP platforms to improve responsiveness and operational decision-making.

Enterprise Systems & Cross-Platform Integration

· Support enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives across SAP and non-SAP environments.

· Integrate SAP with operational and enterprise systems including MES, CRM, reporting platforms, and third-party manufacturing tools.

· Ensure reliable, real-time data flow across SAP and adjacent systems to support business continuity and analytics.

· Partner with infrastructure, application, and data teams to ensure system scalability, performance, and supportability.

· Act as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders, helping prioritize initiatives, translate requirements, and drive adoption of new capabilities.

Data, Reporting & Analytics

· Support development of reporting and analytics capabilities for manufacturing and operations, including Power BI-enabled KPI dashboards.

· Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and consistency across manufacturing, planning, and reporting environments.

· Help define and track key operational metrics across plants and systems to support leadership decision-making.

· Contribute to enterprise reporting strategies that connect SAP manufacturing data with broader business intelligence initiatives.

Required Qualifications

· 7+ years of SAP functional experience with strong expertise in Plan-to-Manufacture (PTM) processes.

· Hands-on experience supporting manufacturing environments, including production planning and shop floor operations.

· Strong understanding of SAP manufacturing process flows, execution, and process optimization.

· Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional SAP solutions.

· Proven ability to partner with cross-functional business stakeholders and lead process improvement initiatives.

· Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

· Experience working in complex enterprise environments with multiple systems and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with SAP IBP and integration between planning and manufacturing execution.

· Background in manufacturing transformation, process harmonization, or enterprise operational improvement programs.

· Experience standardizing processes across multiple plants or manufacturing sites.

· Exposure to manufacturing KPIs, analytics, and performance reporting.

· Experience supporting M&A-related system integration, business process alignment, or enterprise consolidation initiatives.

Nice to Have

· Exposure to SAP BTP

· Familiarity with RTR (Record-to-Report) processes

· Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP platforms

· Experience supporting reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft Teams in a manufacturing environment

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field required
