🌟 Your Impact at Lila

Lila Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist specializing in Protein- Purification and Analytics (Developability) to build and run a high throughput protein characterization platform. In this role, your main responsibility will be to drive the development of Lila’s Scientific Superintelligence platform by leveraging your expertise in protein analytics, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, and applying your analytical data analysis skills.

🧰 What You’ll Need to Succeed

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform high-throughput protein purification and polishing for a wide range of proteins, including enzymes, binders, and membrane proteins.


• Lead the design, development, and optimization of automated chromatography systems, including Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC), and affinity chromatography.


• Develop and implement workflows to characterize protein post-translational modifications (PTMs), ensuring comprehensive analysis and accurate data interpretation.


• Be familiar with techniques such as Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), melting temperature analysis (DSF), and binding assays to assess protein stability and interactions.


• Collaborate closely with computational scientists to integrate data analysis pipelines, supporting automation, data processing, and the development of predictive models for protein characteristics


• Stay informed of the latest advancements in protein purification, automation technologies, and analytical methods to enhance workflow efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

• PhD. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field with 3–5 years of industry experience, or an M.S. with 7+ years of relevant experience in protein production and characterization.


• Proven hands-on experience with chromatography techniques such as HPLC, ÄKTA systems, and preferably associated mass spectrometry


• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, R, or similar, with a focus on data analysis and the automation of experimental workflows.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data interpretation.


• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.


• Experience with laboratory automation and high-throughput screening technologies is a plus.
