Senior Silicon and System Lab Technician

In this role you will enable cutting-edge silicon validation, providing critical technical support for the bring-up, debug, and validation of advanced semiconductor platforms that drive America's technological leadership. 

Every day you will configure sophisticated test environments, troubleshoot complex hardware challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance semiconductor innovation through rigorous validation.

This position plays a crucial role in enabling silicon and system validation across Natcast's technical initiatives. Supporting test infrastructure and hardware validation cycles for advanced SoCs, AI accelerators, networking chips, and system-level prototypes, this role requires sophisticated technical expertise combined with strong collaborative capabilities. 

Responsibilities: 

• Configure validation benches with advanced test equipment 

• Support silicon bring-up and debug operations 

• Perform high-reliability PCB rework and modifications 

• Manage shared lab infrastructure and environments 

• Execute data acquisition and automated testing 

• Maintain ESD and safety compliance 

• Support ATE test setup integration 

• Document procedures and track issues 

• Interface with cross-functional technical teams 

• Manage DUT rotation and test schedules 

• Ensure lab readiness for validation activities 

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field (Bachelor's preferred) 

• 6+ years silicon/system validation lab experience 

• Proficiency with advanced test instruments 

• Strong PCB and circuit operations knowledge 

• Excellence in soldering and rework 

• Linux and lab automation expertise 

• Strong documentation capabilities 

• Independent problem-solving abilities 

• Cross-functional collaboration skills 

• Lab safety and compliance experience 

• Hardware debugging expertise 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

• IPC-610/7711/7721 certification 

• High-speed interface knowledge (PCIe, DDR5, USB4) 

• ATE tools experience 

• Tier-1 semiconductor company background 

• FPGA/emulation platform experience 

• Thermal solution expertise 

• Silicon debug experience
