Join TuSimple and help change the way the world moves.
Together we're making freight transportation safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly. About the Role:
TuSimple develops the most advanced and comprehensive self driving solutions for autonomous trucks. Our Simulation Team is seeking talented software engineers with experience in developing state of the art simulation software. In this role, you will develop end-to-end simulation tools to validate our self-driving systems. You will gain a full suite of software experience by working in software design, implementation, integration, and verification. We encourage our engineers to take ownership over technical and product decisions by working closely with users to collect feedback. What You Will Do:
Develop end-to-end simulation tools for constructing a 3D virtual world closely mimicking the real world. In this virtual world you need to build:
Different types of agents including pedestrians, motorcycles and cars that interact with our self driving software. A 3D world including roads, road markers, construction cones, etc. Different weather conditions including sunny, rainy, windy, foggy and snowy, etc. Vehicle dynamic model with variable parameters including truck mass, trailer mass, weather conditions, uneven roads, etc. Simulated sensor output including camera, LiDAR, radar, can-bus, etc.
Design and implement system architecture for your projects, provide feedback to other team members. Help improve our engineering process and software quality by participating in engineering design reviews, code reviews, unit tests, CI/CD process, etc. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products. Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution. Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule. What You Will Need:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related major is required. At least 6 years of directly related experience in developing advanced simulation software for autonomous systems. Strong programming skills in modern C++ and experience in navigating a large code base. Strong experience using OpenGL and Vulkan to perform real-time rendering with multi-GPUs, and for each image generate segmentation, depth, and optical flow results at the same time. Strong experience using 3D modeling tools like Maya, 3D Blender to build models that appear in the virtual driving environment. Strong experience using game engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity to build the virtual world. Strong experience in troubleshooting performance and scalability bottlenecks and developing technical solutions. What Is Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science is highly desirable. #LI-LMR Pay Transparency
