Senior Site Civil Engineer​

We’re looking for a collaborative, people-focused Site Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources Practice, a diverse team that handles a variety of site and municipal projects around the Pacific Northwest.

About the Role 

In this position, you’ll work with a highly collaborative team of engineers, landscape architects, and civil technicians to:  

• Lead Site Civil Design as part of a multi-disciplined design team performing site designs for facility improvement/development projects. 

• Provide project management support and task management on projects. 

• Oversee/prepare construction documents (plans and specifications) for site improvements including erosion control, grading, site layout and surfacing, drainage, utilities, and permitting documents. 

• Performs project tasks and provides technical guidance to project team members. 

• Supports the technical aspect of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development, work breakdown structure development and implementation, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management. 

• Coordinates and/or performs quality checks and reviews for project deliverables. 

• Performs quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams on an as needed basis. 

• Mentor and train more junior engineers. 

• Works with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of concepts related to their discipline. 

• May also lead and assist with other projects associated within Water Resources Practice. 

About You 

We’re looking for someone with: 

• 8+ years of experience in design, and PS&E 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or related field 

• Washington State Professional Engineer license 

• Development and construction support for civil/site design projects  

• Experience collaborating with architects and landscape architects 

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Washington State and local stormwater, wastewater, and surface water industry rules and regulations. 

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, SWMM, MGSFlood, and WWHM 

• Experience authoring drainage reports for various jurisdictions. 

• Proficient and qualified in reviewing the work of other professionals, as well as performing milestone QA/QC reviews 

• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, collaborating with teams in different locations.

The expected compensation range for this position for employees based in the Seattle area is $110,000-$145,000 annually and is dependent upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
