Senior Site Construction Estimator - Central

Immediate opening for a senior site construction estimator. The position is located in Central New Jersey and is a great opportunity for an experienced estimator looking for a full-time position with a growing, dynamic company. Candidates must have commercial site construction experience or a combination of residential and commercial site construction experience with a strong working knowledge of earthwork, stormwater pipe and facilities, sanitary pipe and structures, concrete estimating, and all other site related construction. This position will report directly to the Owner, and General Manager in preparing, monitoring, updating, and expediting construction estimates. Work requires interfacing with potential customers and developing strong business relationships.
Salary range is $90k to $140k with health benefits, and bonus opportunities based on incentive program. Starting salary and may be adjusted based upon candidates’ specific experience and abilities.
Qualifications:
· Proficient understanding of residential and commercial sitework estimating.
· Previous experience working on site construction estimating, reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
· Proficient with technology including estimating software such as Heavy Bid by HCSS, and Earth Works Pro.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Some experience in AutoCAD a plus.
· Highly organized, self-motivated, detail oriented with the ability to estimate and update multiple estimates on an ongoing basis.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate professional customer service skills and maintain constructive working relationships with other employees, subcontractors and clients.
· Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
· Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete required mathematical calculations.
· Ability to work under pressure; manage multiple deadlines and within a team environment to best achieve accurate and timely results.
· College degree or equivalent combination of training and/or field experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Read and thoroughly understand blueprints, project specifications, shop drawings, cut sheets, AIA payment applications, and RFQ / RFI process.
Ability to quantify all required work, and related costs to be included within estimates, with an emphasis on earthwork estimating and handling.
Perform accurate quantity take-offs and maintain unit price database for estimates.
Interact directly with clients, architects, engineers, vendors, and suppliers during bid/estimating process.
Prepare and update accurate specifications and scopes of work as required for contracts and subcontract agreements.
Other duties as may be requested.
Job Type : Full-Time.
Required experience:
Functioning in the role of a Senior or Chief Estimator, 4 to 5 years, minimum.
