Senior Software Engineer

About the Role
We’re looking for a senior engineer to own our product for the next two to three months. You’ll take over a live consumer app from the engineer who built it, keep it running, and ship what’s next, starting with taking a beta feature to launch. You’ll report directly to our CEO, a multi-exit founder who moves fast and expects the same. We’re open about how this ends. If you want a focused, well-paid engagement where you come in, deliver, and move on, that’s a great outcome for us. If you want more, the person in this seat is first in line to become our founding engineer as we close our seed round. Either path works; we just need the work done well.

About the Company
We’re an early-stage consumer cybersecurity company that started inside a nonprofit focused on making people safer online. We spun out on our own this year because the mission needed a real business behind it to scale. Our AI advisor helps everyday people understand and fix their risk online in plain language, and tens of thousands of users have signed up since launch. We work hybrid out of Colorado Springs, in office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, because a small team moves faster in the same room.

Key Responsibilities

• Own our TypeScript stack: Next.js web app, Node backend, and AI agent services
• Run deploys, monitoring, and incidents on Google Cloud
• Build and improve the AI advisor experience users interact with
• Keep user alerts and personal data reliable and secure

Qualifications

• 8+ years building software, including production systems you personally ran
• Daily TypeScript across both React/Next.js and Node
• Have shipped LLM-powered features to real users
• Strong with Postgres and a document database like MongoDB
• Based in Colorado Springs or the Denver area, available to start within a week or two

Bonus Points

• Consumer app or security/privacy product experience
• Supabase, Cloud Run, or LLM observability tooling
• Early-stage startup experience
