Job Description - Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Develop software solutions in accordance with agreed release plans and associated solution designs for the business applications they have accountability for within their DevOps team.
Work with Business Analysts, Product Owner, Solution Architects, Data Architects and business SMEs to ensure end user functionality and experience is achieved.
Contribute to end user support by addressing production issues/incidents. Develop high quality code, configurations and customizations which are fully tested and deployed in accordance with requirements and acceptance criteria.
Delivery of functional requirements according to business requirements, nonfunctional, technical requirements and design / architectural guidelines maintaining CI/CD pipeline effectiveness.
Collaborate with other delivery DevOps teams where overlap in delivery scope to ensure good understanding of inter-dependencies, planning for timely delivery, end to end testing and automated deployment is intact, and business objective is met.
Apply code control and testing standards in accordance with Syngenta and industry standards.
Look for opportunities to enhance the work processes and best practices and implement changes to optimize the software delivery model, stability, and support issues.
Mentor and coach junior team members as well as contribute to code reviews and pair programming.
Contribute to technical guilds, hackathons and other technical activities to help advance the overall team skills.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or seven (7) years of experience as a Software Developer, Technical Lead, or a closely related occupation.

Requires seven (7) years of experience with: Designing, coding, and testing software applications; applying agile development approaches including release and sprint planning, and execution; working with Java, Spring and Spring Boot, React, FTL, iBatis, Hibernate, Angular, microservices, and web communication protocols; cloud technologies and AWS basic services including EC2, Autoscaling, RDS (Oracle, and Postgress), DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, SNS, SQS, IAM, S3 CloudWatch, and VPC; source control version tools including GitHub, and GitLab; build tools including Maven, Gradle, and Gitlab runners; infrastructure as code including Ansible, YAML Kubernetes, OpenShift, and GitLab CI configurations; DevOps platform including Jenkins; test frameworks including Junit, Cucumber, and Selenium; Gitlab, Grafana & Prometheus, and log aggregation tools ELK; developing and deploying containerized solution on RedHat OpenShift platform, and Docker; design and implementation of enterprise-level application and integration architectures using a RESTful approach.

Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.

Full-time, position located in Durham, NC.
