Senior Software Engineer, Android

We are a team of solution-driven professionals experienced in the financial, engineering, and software industries, dedicated to creating more positive experiences for ordering, loyalty, and payments.

We are looking for full-time Senior Software Engineers seeking to take part in revolutionizing the consumer experience using advanced biometrics technologies. You will be an integral part of the PopID development team helping drive customer integrations, introducing new payment gateways and deploying best-in-class biometric solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of Java or Kotlin and a desire to research, learn, test and implement new emerging technologies.

Job Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and secure mobile applications for Android.
• Create and enhance SDK libraries for Android, ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality.
• Architect and implement camera-based applications, utilizing the latest technologies and best practices.
• Lead mobile application design discussions, contributing expertise in performance, scalability, and security.
• Apply expert-level understanding of mobile architecture patterns, frameworks, and technologies to drive technical decisions.
• Utilize full stack development experience to provide valuable insights and contribute to various aspects of the development process.

Key Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mobile application development for Android.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin and Swift.
• Extensive experience in designing and building SDK libraries for Android.
• Experience working with AOSP.
• Proven expertise in camera-based application development, utilizing hardware capabilities effectively.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns, frameworks, and technologies.
• Strong understanding of Android Camera API (Camera 2).
• Knowledge of face filters, beautification, and background filters is a strong plus.
• Nice-to-have: Previous experience with full stack development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The starting base pay range for this position is $170K - $200K annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on the candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, PopID offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, stock options, unlimited PTO, and a fully paid health care benefits package (medical, dental, vision plans). Flexible work (hybrid) environment based on the needs of the business, with expectations of at least 2 in-office days per week.
