About the role

We are a fast-paced organization and we are looking for people who want to collaborate broadly and deal with ambiguity to solve real problems that have a huge impact on our customer’s businesses, and to grow our company and grow the people around them. As a Senior Software Engineer I, you will play a vital role in developing new features & products and helping to maintain and update our enterprise products.  Working collaboratively with other talented engineers as an empathetic systems thinker you will continue to evolve our platform.

Our software stack leans heavily on C#, React, TypeScript/JavaScript, JSON, and HTML5/CSS, with MS SQL Server for data persistence.  Our SaaS platform is hosted in Azure

What you’ll do as a Senior Software Engineer I

  • Use our entire technology stack to implement improvements to our TalentLink product, including web and mobile UIs, webhooks and APIs, as well as expand capabilities in both web and mobile offerings

  • Contribute to and influence design and development decisions

  • Work in an agile (Kanban) environment, quickly and incrementally delivering value to our customers

  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with product, design, and customers to solve real problems

  • Tighten feedback loops and minimize risk by using TDD/CI and other DevOps best practices

  • Use Jira, Slack, and Zoom, to communicate with your team and leadership

What we’re looking for

  • Great communicator and outstanding team player. Bias towards over-communicating and asking questions out in the open. Eagerly solicits the opinions and ideas of others

  • Desire to be part of a team, need to understand and shape organizational culture, and deep belief that the only way for them to be successful as an individual is for the team to be successful

  • Curious and intentional about both mentorship and self-development

  • Systems Thinking Mentality with a nod to Complexity Science

  • Specific experience with our tech: React, TypeScript, Mobile Development, Azure, MS SQL Server (Just using ORMs doesn't count)

  • Strong understanding of software design fundamentals, request life cycles, system architecture, and user behavior

  • Ability to design and implement the right technical solution for the right problem at the right time (i.e. you don't over-engineer, but you do thoroughly consider the constraints and total cost of operation)

  • Adoption of CI, DevOps principles and a focus on quality

  • Someone fun, interesting, and who likes to build and hack. Not just software!

  • Experience developing complex software for the web in multiple languages with multiple components/services

  • You’ve helped make your work environment fun, and it’s important to you

  • You’ve built great relationships with coworkers in the past, and want to keep doing it

  • You care similarly about building great software, and building great relationships with other people

Nice to haves

  • Experience working remotely

  • Experience with DevOps, PWAs, .NET/C#

  • Expertise in and experience developing enterprise products, and web products at scale

  • Experience with distributed systems, complex user interfaces or other challenging engineering problems

  • Open source contributions

  • You’re interested in the technical problems and types of business problems we are solving

What you’ll get

  • Great mission-driven team members from diverse backgrounds with a strong company culture

  • Competitive pay

  • Flexible PTO

  • Paid company holidays

  • Yearly team off-sites

  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits (FSA, HSA & HRA options)

  • Basic & Voluntary Life Insurance

  • 401k employer match

  • Wellness benefits

  • Commuter benefits

  • Work in an open environment on solutions that are reshaping the way businesses operate

  • Fun team events

  • Ability to have a big impact

  • 10 weeks of paid parental leave

  • Fitness reimbursement

  • Learning & development funds

Essential Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk

  • Prolonged periods of typing and working at a computer

  • Ability to listen and speak over the phone or Zoom calls

  • High level of mental concentration and focus
