to join the Fighters Vehicle Simulation organization, which produces high-fidelity training simulation for domestic and international customers, located in

Berkeley, MO . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization, specifically the F-15 training system software team.This role leads software managers and engineers in the development flight simulation software that accurately simulates the aircraft, its subsystems, and the environments in which it operates. The software engineers on these teams use a variety of languages, including C++, Fortran, Ada, and Python primarily targets to Linux & windows platforms. The software is developed using an Agile methodology.In this role, you will develop a team of diverse engineers and managers to build high integrity software that is integral to the training of our customers. You will apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to navigate the team to achieve on-time and on-budget program milestones. You will sharpen your creative problem solving and innovation skills to scale engineering efficiency and quality, resulting in a world-class software product. In this position, you will develop your communication skills while networking with other integrated product teams, program management, and customer sets.The Fighters Vehicle Simulation organization is a strong and growing business that produces high-fidelity training systems, which are employed around the world to support the defense of U.S. allied countries.This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:Manage personnel resources to ensure a fully staffed and trained team is availableDrive technical planning and execution, including Earned Value Management (EVM) dutiesProvide guidance and direction to ensure Software Engineering Design Practices, Independent Verification & Validation, and other engineering excellence initiatives are understood and implementedDrive continuous improvement to ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds planned cost, schedule, technical performance, safety, and quality targetsInterface directly with Air Force customer counterparts for program software supportSupport Program Management Reviews, Systems Engineering Technical Reviews, and the Enterprise Standard Gated ProcessManage development lab spaces in a secure computing environmentPerform Request for Proposal (RFP) review and software estimating activities to ensure contract budgets provide adequate support for software development tasksPerform employee performance management and career development activitiesCoordinate with other Boeing Engineering teams in the verification, validation, release, and distribution of software productsThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree3+ years of experience in a software leadership role5+ years of experience in developing software in a team environmentPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience or training with the Agile software development methodologyExperience or training with Earned Value Management (EVM)Experience with training simulation software developmentTypical Education/Experience:Typical education and experience described in our standard level guides are aligned to the type and number of years of experience/education required to perform the job in industry.
