3 Reasons Consulting, LLC is looking for a skilled Senior SQL Server Database Developer to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in managing and optimizing mission-critical databases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL development and performance optimization, utilizing a wide range of tools and practices such as SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), Azure Data Studio (ADS), SQLCMD, PowerShell, and Visual Studio. This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact critical health research and surveillance efforts while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database creation, maintenance, troubleshooting, software development, storing procedures, synonyms, indexing, and performance tuning, as well as database migration, and experience with.NET, C++, C#, F#, Visual Basic and Python
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science is preferred
- Must be located in the San Diego, CA area
Clearance Level: This position requires a Secret clearance
Services to be performed include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize tools and practices such as Service Design, Change Management, and SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), Azure Data Studio (ADS), Database Engine Tuning Advisor (DTA), SQLCMD, Bulk Copy Program, PowerShell, and Visual Studio for optimal SQL development.
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL databases.
- Monitor performance using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Dynamic Management Views, SQL Server Diagnostics, and tools like SQL Server Profiler and DTA.
- Focus on performance tuning, troubleshooting, and reliability optimization.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into functional, non-functional, technical, and data quality requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored database solutions.
- Assist in developing multidimensional and tabular data models with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) to support research missions.
- Create interactive and visually appealing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other tools.
- Ensure adherence to documented change management and compliance processes during development, upgrades, and modifications.
- Provide expertise in database creation, queries, application support, and maintenance.
- Work alongside users and IT teams to ensure database reliability and performance optimization
