Senior Staff Accountant

About the Role

The Senior Staff Accountant position plays a critical role in supporting accurate financial operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This mid-level accounting role is responsible for general ledger reconciliation, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with experience in cost accounting, ERP systems, and financial analysis, particularly within the manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with US GAAP
• Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure financial data integrity
• Draft financial statement footnotes for internal and external reporting
• Perform inventory tracking, valuation, and cost analysis
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Conduct variance analysis and present findings to leadership
• Prepare financial reports for corporate and regulatory compliance
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation
• Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
• Monitor and enforce internal controls and accounting standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to achieve organizational goals
• Drive process improvements to increase accounting efficiency
• Support system implementations and special projects with the Controller

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Proficiency with accounting software, including Sage and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial analysis
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Desired Qualifications:

• CPA certification
• Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting in manufacturing
• Familiarity with systems such as ExStar and Board software
• Strong communication and process improvement skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
