Summary/Objective
Perform a variety of accounting duties including reconciling accounts, investigating discrepancies, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits. Must be able to work independently and make decisions on financial data and client issues.
Essential Functions
Reconcile all general ledger accounts, including bank, tax, workers' compensation, benefits, prepaid, and accruals.
Analyze monthly financial statements and trial balances for unusual/unexpected fluctuations.
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies arising from reconciliations and financial statement reviews.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies that arise from Client Benefits Reconciliation
Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting including ad hoc reports.
Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position on-site/hybrid working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm.
Required Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 2 years of accounting-related experience is required.
Preferred Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting along with 3 years of accounting experience focused on account reconciliations is preferred. Experience with Lawson and/or Blackline Accounting Software is a plus.
