Jane Street Group, LLC has openings for Senior Strategy and Product Specialist - multiple openings in New York, NY.

The position duties are as follows:  Embedded on a trading, software engineering, or infrastructure (Compliance, Operations, Treasury, etc) team; responsible for overhauling processes and performing data analysis to identify strategic growth opportunities, as well as designing and directing work to move forward key business and technical initiatives. Day-to-day duties include:

• Work directly with business drivers in identifying new business opportunities and operational inefficiencies within and between teams; 


• Lead cross-team projects, including tracking updates across multiple teams and workstreams and providing appropriate documentation across various levels of project stakeholders and decision-makers; 


• Manage competing priorities across a wide range of teams, including developers, business teams, operations, support, and external financial entities; 


• Leverage extensive domain expertise to critically evaluate and overhaul existing processes with minimal direction; 


• Build more sophisticated tooling or recommend large-scale updates, which may include directly developing, designing, and modifying systems;


• Proactively identify and evaluate datasets to highlight areas of risk or to conduct cost-benefit analyses of potential new business flows. 

Part-time telecommuting may be permitted with manager approval.

Minimum Requirements: Requires 3 or 4 year Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field, plus two (2) years of experience in any occupation where project management, data analysis, and business development have been core responsibilities. Experience must include: 

1. 2 years of experience working in product strategy or a similar occupation in which experience acquiring and applying business knowledge to lead new project endeavors is gained


2. 2 years of experience handling operational issues, analyzing data, and mapping out projects;


3. 2 years of experience writing code for automation and data exploration, with technologies including Excel, VBA, UNIX, Bash, PostgreSQL, Python, and OCaml; and


4. 2 years of experience working in a cross-functional role that is involved in designing new processes or products for multiple stakeholders.
