Job Description - Senior Structural Design Engineer

Pay Rate: $52 - $62/hour
Schedule: 8-hour day shift
Duration: Contract assignment up to 1 year

Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join an Engineering Services team. This role will primarily support facility improvement projects , while also contributing to a variety of other engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute structural design and detailing for industrial projects
Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work for projects of moderate to large scope
Address complex design challenges including material limitations, conflicting requirements, and coordination issues
Collaborate cross-functionally and provide input on process and design improvements
Review project progress with leadership and stakeholders
May provide guidance or oversight to engineers and technicians on specific assignments

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Agricultural, or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis required)
- Master's degree may count as 1 year of experience
10+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial environments
Strong expertise in:
- Steel and concrete design
- Foundation systems
Working knowledge of masonry and wood design is a plus
Ability to work independently and manage full project lifecycle

Licensure:

Professional Engineer (PE) license required (structural focus preferred)
OR Structural Engineer (SE) license from a state requiring structural-specific licensure (e.g., Illinois)

Additional Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with technical reporting and documentation
Willingness to travel up to 25% to support project needs
