What You'll Do as a Senior Structural Engineer:
Lead the structural design & analysis of wood and mass timber buildings across commercial, residential, and specialty sectors.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to ongoing technical development within the team.
Oversee a team of engineers, drafters, and designers to ensure technical accuracy and timely project delivery.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to develop efficient, buildable, and visually cohesive solutions.
Design connection details and complete structural systems using various materials, including concrete, steel, and masonry.
Manage active projects, serving as project manager from concept through construction.
Conduct site visits and review shop drawings to ensure construction aligns with intent and standards.
Build & maintain strong client relationships through hands-on involvement and clear communication.
Participate in continuing education, networking events, and professional development activities.
Our Ideal Senior Structural Engineer:
Experienced: 8+ years in structural or construction engineering; strong knowledge of building codes, design standards, and material properties; skilled in managing budgets, meeting deadlines, and containing costs. Experience with wood frame or mass timber is highly preferred.
Licensed: Holds a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering (with a structural focus) and is licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE); SE is a plus but not required.
Tech Savvy: Proficient in Risa 3D, Tekla, or RAM Structural; comfortable with Microsoft Office and open to using AI tools for design or workflow efficiency.
Leadership-ready: Demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, and humility; delegates effectively, leads by example, and upholds company values.
Detailed & Organized: Manages multiple projects and deadlines accurately and precisely in calculations and documentation.
Collaborative: Communicates clearly with internal teams and external partners; builds strong working relationships across disciplines.
Personable & Engaging: Comfortable in public settings; represents the company professionally at meetings, conferences, and networking events.
Safety-focused: Maintains awareness of jobsite conditions and follows all safety protocols, including appropriate PPE use and environmental awareness.
What we offer our Senior Structural Engineer:
$90,000–$130,000/year, depending on experience
