Position: Senior Structural Engineer- Building and Facilities

Reports to: Project Manager 

General Qualities

- Strong written and oral communication skills to coordinate the activities

- Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the employees

- Ability to supervise engineering staff and provide technical input/review of their work

Technical Responsibilities:

- Thorough knowledge of structural design experience with building renovation and new construction projects.

- Possesses hands-on experience with the current commercially available structural design and analysis software.

- Ability to independently write and develop engineering reports for building renovation projects.

- Must be able to lead, mentor and supervise junior engineer and CAD designers.

- Ability to perform thorough quality review of plans and specifications.

- Demonstrated ability to perform constructability review of projects.

- Good budget control and time management skills.

- Positive attitude and ability to respond to client inquiries on a timely basis.

- Ability to prepare technical writeup for design proposals.

- Responsive to Client and other KSE Manager/ needs, and all other duties as assigned.                  

Requirements

Educational Requirements

- BS in Civil Engineering 

Experience:

- 5-10 years of relevant experience preferred.

- Familiarity with Bluebeam is highly desirable.

- Strong verbal and written skills are required.

Professional Licenses/Registrations

- PE License, preferably in the states of New York and/or New Jersey.

Professional Development:

- Willing to further professional development, training, and licensing
