Responsibilities
Lead and manage the commissioning process of high voltage electrical substations from pre-commissioning through to energization and handover.
Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
Conduct detailed testing and troubleshooting of substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and control systems.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Analyze technical data and prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation.
Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize project delays and ensure system reliability.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and commissioning staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years experience in substation commissioning within the utilities industry.
In-depth knowledge of high voltage equipment, protection systems, and control schemes.
Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to substation commissioning.
Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to handle multiple commissioning projects simultaneously.
