Apply Today! \n\nWhere You Will Work \n\nLocated approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. \n\nMorenci is a unique company town where our employees and their families can reconnect with nature through hiking, fishing, camping, hunting and numerous parks. Visit the Morenci town website to learn more. \n\n## What You Will Do\n\nUnder general supervision, supervise, coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit through subordinate Supervisors.\n\n \n\n * Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules\n * Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning\n * Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations\n * Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained\n * Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales\n * Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors\n * Perform other duties as required\n\n\n\n## What You Bring To Freeport\n\n * High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience\n * Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required\n * Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques\n * Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects\n * Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration\n * Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions\n * Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards\n * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing\n\n\n\nPreferred\n\n * None\n\n\n\nCriteria/Conditions\n\n * Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English\n * Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards\n * Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment\n * Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles\n * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see\n * Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday\n * Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required\n * Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws\n\n\n\n\n * What We Offer You \n\n\n\nThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $106,000 - $145,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
