Job Description - Senior Systems Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Atlantic City, NJ.


Job Description – Objectstream, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the company's technical needs and contribute to the evolution of our architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with enterprise-level systems, strong expertise in Cisco and VMware technologies, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex, interconnected environments. This role also requires excellent documentation skills, as well as experience managing system upgrades and evaluating new technologies and solutions. This position is a hybrid position.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Develop and maintain system architecture, design documentation, and interface control specifications.

  • Conduct requirements analysis, gap analysis, and system trade-off studies to support technical decision-making.

  • Provide system integration and testing support, including regression, performance, and failover testing.

  • Design and implement solutions with high availability, fault tolerance, and automated failover (e.g., clustering, load balancing, redundant services).

  • Provide disaster recovery planning support to include designing resilient architectures and participating in regular DR exercises.

  • Ensure distributed systems are architected for rapid recovery and continuity of services in the event of system or site-level failures.

  • Provide engineering support for radar distribution systems, to include performing integration, monitoring, performance tuning, and redundancy to ensure uninterrupted delivery of radar feeds to stakeholders.

  • Assist with systems testing and maintenance.

  • Occasional travel to government facilities is required.

  • The responsibilities and duties listed above are flexible and subject to change based on operational need.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Science.

  • A minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in systems engineering including design, implementation.

  • Experience designing resilient systems and network architectures.

  • Experience designing and implementing high availability, fault tolerance, and automated failover (e.g., clustering, load balancing, redundant services).

  • Experience supporting both Windows and Linux environments.

  • Experience with VMware virtualization platforms.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in complex, interconnected environments.

  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and changing requirements.

  • Must be a US citizen and must have lived in the US for 3 years in past 5 years.

  • Must be able to hold and maintain a Secret Clearance.
