Job Description - Senior Tax Analyst

Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Goodyear’s U.S. tax compliance and reporting activities across a complex global manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely federal, state, federal excise, and international tax reporting while helping the organization navigate evolving tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

You will partner closely with teams across Finance, Accounting, and Operations to support tax compliance, audit readiness, and financial integrity. In addition to preparing and reviewing tax filings and provisions, you will help identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support broader tax initiatives that impact the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, federal excise, and international tax filings in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

  • Calculate and record book-to-tax adjustments, deferred taxes, state apportionments, and other tax-related workpapers to support monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.

  • Support ASC 740 tax provision activities, including reconciliations of federal and state tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with GAAP and SEC reporting standards.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Operations teams to gather, validate, and analyze financial data needed for accurate tax reporting and compliance.

  • Support IRS and state audit activities by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and substantiating tax positions to help minimize risk and exposure.

  • Assist with U.S. international tax reporting, including reviewing global tax packages and supporting calculations related to earnings and profits, Subpart F income, foreign tax credits, and related federal filings.

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and support implementation efforts related to new compliance requirements, process improvements, and internal controls.

  • Support special projects, tax planning initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across the broader tax function.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance within public accounting and/or large corporate environments.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax compliance, tax provisions, and multinational corporate tax concepts.

  • Foundational understanding of ASC 740 and deferred tax accounting principles under U.S. GAAP.

  • Experience working in deadline-driven environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience supporting tax functions within manufacturing, consumer goods, or other complex multinational organizations.

  • Exposure to U.S. international tax reporting and related calculations.

  • Proficiency with tax and ERP systems such as Corptax and SAP, along with advanced Excel skills.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies and improve processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax concepts to business partners.
