The Senior Technician, Print Operations plays a key role in supporting the Company’s additive metal manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for the setup and execution of setting up print jobs, safety revolving around metal powder, post processing of printed parts, part inspection/testing, along with performing daily cleanliness and maintenance on production equipment. This role is critical to ensuring consistent throughput, high part quality and support of the overall manufacturing success at Hyliion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with engineering and management teams to fabricate LPBF components for use in Karno production.
Execute post print downstream processes including powder evacuation, support removal, pressure vessel leak testing and preparation of jobs for outsourced vendor operations.
Support continuous improvement efforts by contributing to advancements in the printing processes, equipment performance, and overall operational efficiency.
Support cross functionally as needed with shaft, engine, battery, and genset assembly operations.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs.

Qualifications include:
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of 5 years work experience working in a hands-on environment.
Additive manufacturing experience (3 years LPBF preferred- GE concept laser, EOS, SLM).
CNC machine and/or EDM experience
Knowledge of lean six sigma and 5S methodologies with a strong focus on safety and process improvement.
Skills and Abilities
Highly motivated, able to take initiative, with a strong work ethic
Strong mechanical intuition.
Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills with heavy attention to detail in their work.
Experience operating precise measuring tools and equipment that require calibration or a highly detailed set up.
Experience and expertise in battery assembly, custom fabrication, wiring, and/or welding preferred.
Willingness to cross-train and learn new skills is a must.
Positive attitude
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating within a Team environment
Role Classification and Working Conditions
This is a(n) hourly, non-exempt-level position. This position typically works in a production/assembly/engineering lab environment. Overtime may be required.
Physical/Other Requirements
Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Ability to travel, as needed, by plane, automobile, etc.
