Summary:
As a Test Technician in the automotive industry, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of cutting-edge vehicle systems. This hands-on position involves testing, troubleshooting, and validating electronic components and software in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers and production teams to bring the next generation of automotive technology to life.
Responsibilities:
- Apply basic electronics knowledge (Ohm’s Law, circuit theory, components like resistors and capacitors) to real-world testing scenarios.
- Operate diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies with confidence.
- Use hand tools (screwdrivers, wire cutters, small power tools) for assembly and repair tasks.
- Work with automotive communication protocols and embedded systems.
- Perform software flashing: update, modify, or erase software on automotive computers.
- Troubleshoot flashing stations, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Follow and uphold quality standards and safety procedures in lab and manufacturing settings.
- Create and maintain technical documentation to support operations teams (e.g., setup guides, hardware identification).
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and validate software releases via Deviation Requests (DEVREQ) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Log and analyze factory failures using tools like Jira, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
- Collaborate with operations to plan and implement flashing strategies.
- Support the rollout of new tools and processes, ensuring smooth transitions and team alignment.
