WHAT YOU’LL DO
· Lead and assist the design support team with new product and tooling designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology
· Own and execute tool designs using CAD
· Understand and communicate tool access and machine access needs
· Establish methods of coordinating critical features and tolerance stack ups across manufacturing stages
· Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies
· Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement associated corrective actions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years experience in production assembly/fabrication including, composites, metallic, and production manufacturing operations on air vehicles (manned or unmanned).
· Demonstrated ability in distinguishing critical design differences between Prototype and Production tooling
· Experience with detailed tooling requirements for composite manufacturing processes including lamination, curing, trimming, and bonding
· Experience designing mechanical parts (CAD) and model/drawings release processes using PLM.
· Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, etc)
· Ability to read and create GD&T drawings to a novice standard
· BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent Engineering discipline
· Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in NX/Teamcenter/Fibersim
· 10+ years of experience in Tool Design
· Experience with press molding, VARTM/RTM, out of autoclave and autoclave processes
· Aviation or automotive passion demonstrated through certifications, licenses, or hobbies.
· Unmanned aircraft development experience
· Ability to read and interpret part inspection reports
· Some hands on practical experience (machining/layup/welding)
· Active U.S. Secret security clearance
US Salary Range
$140,000 - $200,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
