Job Description - Senior Wealth Management Compliance Specialist

Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the New Charter Technologies Corporate Accounting organization during the accelerated growth and scale of the Company. We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who will maintain all aspects of the department's full cycle accounting process, including preparing journal entries & variance explanations, performing account reconciliations, following up to resolve issues, and engaging in special projects throughout the month as necessary. Local candidates to Denver, CO.

In this role, you will:

Own the full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities by ensuring transactions are recorded timely and accurately
Prepare journal entries for all accounting-related activities (AR, AP, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, intercompany, month-end accruals, etc.)
Reconcile the general ledger accounts in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures
Work with Accounting Manager and Controller to research and explain variances to forecast and budget
Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles
Drive process improvements and lead exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability, efficiency, and productivity
Support with year-end audit and schedule requests from external auditors
Support management with M&A-related projects

To be considered, you will have:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end closing process, and variance analysis
Solid understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply the concepts to specific situations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate-level skills in Excel to perform analysis using pivot and lookup tables
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/NetSuite/QuickBooks experience a must
Positive demeanor, collaborative, and solution-oriented
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a team-based environment
Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with senior and executive leaders

Compensation for the Senior Staff Accountant (in some other companies this role may be called Senior Accountant or Staff Accountant III) is expected to range from

$70,000 to $75,000

depending on experience and expertise levels. Candidates local to Denver are strongly preferred.
