Senior Website Developer

Please note that this is an  unpaid  Volunteer position. You will not be monetarily compensated for your time, but we do offer some sweet benefits to our amazing volunteers and interns.

Background Pitch Labs is a non-profit that is taking strides to change the face of entrepreneurship. As it stands right now, obtaining entrepreneurial knowledge can be expensive and seems only available to limited amounts of people. However, millions of entrepreneurs worldwide know that they can make innovations that will change and shape society forever. Pitch Labs is helping entrepreneurs unlock the resources they need by creating a free online library, hosting virtual events, and opening clubs in schools to allow entrepreneurs to unlock their skills and do what they are meant to do: create!
Role Our website is the most valuable asset we have to reach our audience. So far, many volunteer developers have contributed bits and pieces of our website code, and as a result, we have a functioning website, but we know that it could be more neat, functional, and in general, just look better (makes for easier navigation).
Note: In this position, you may be asked to serve as a 2nd-in-Command/right-hand to our Chief Technology Officer. As a Senior Website Developer, you will also review questions and requests from other developers volunteering with the organization.
Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities Review junior developer pull requests
Split major projects into smaller issues to be handled
Act as ‘project implementation lead’ on cross-departmental technology projects with other teams
Handle major tasks (in coordination with other developers) such as the implementation or overhaul of a platform
Help junior developers joining the team get set up and help navigate issues
Manage our Azure cloud computing infrastructure
Implement and optimize GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
You must also know how to use the following tools:
Next.js 14
Strapi 4
TailwindCSS
GitHub Actions
and respond to messaging/emails within 24 hours
be proficient in written & spoken professional/native English language skills

Time Commitment THIS IS AN UNPAID, REMOTE #WFH VOLUNTEER POSITION. Therefore we are extremely flexible with time and just ask that you contribute what you can. If you have exams, work, or family events come up you are more than able to take a break. During times you are active, we do require that you volunteer at least 7 hours a week and that you commit to volunteering for at least 6 months.
