Job Description - Senior WordPress Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior WordPress Developer with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites (+5 websites and more). This role requires deep expertise in custom theme development, template creation, plugin integration, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building user-friendly, responsive, and high-performance websites while maintaining clean, scalable code.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop custom WordPress themes and templates from scratch based on design mockups or brand guidelines.
Maintain and enhance existing WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user experience.
Collaborate with design, content, and marketing teams to implement website features and functionality.
Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, or plugin conflicts.
Implement best practices in coding standards, site architecture, and technical SEO.
Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

10+ years of professional experience in web development with a focus on WordPress.
Expert in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
Strong experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins.
Deep understanding of the WordPress core, hooks, filters, and APIs.
Proficient with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and Gutenberg.
Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
Experience with website optimization tools (e.g., Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix).
Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
Solid grasp of SEO best practices, schema markup, and accessibility standards.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively.
Experience working for marketing agencies

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience integrating third-party APIs and services (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, Stripe).
Experience with headless WordPress and REST API.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
