Job Description - Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Behavior Verification

An industry-leading autonomous driving technology company has engaged us to find a Software Engineer – Driving Behavior Verification to help validate the next generation of self-driving systems. In this hands-on individual contributor role, you'll develop the software and evaluation metrics that measure how autonomous vehicles behave in real-world scenarios, ensuring safe and reliable operation within their intended environments. You'll work across the full autonomy stack, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define, verify, and continuously improve autonomous driving performance.

This role directly influences how autonomous vehicles are evaluated for safety before deployment. You'll build the software and performance metrics that quantify driving behavior across simulation and real-world testing, helping shape critical engineering decisions that determine release readiness for autonomous systems operating in complex environments.


 


We're looking for someone who has:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a related technical field.

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 3 years developing software for robotics, autonomous systems, or related technologies.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.

  • Solid understanding of robotic systems architecture, including sensing, localization, perception, prediction, behavior planning, and control.

  • Experience working with simulation and real-world validation of autonomous or robotic systems.

  • Excellent analytical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
