Sentinel CFD Aeronautical Engineer - 17933

Conduct high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to accurately predict missile aerodynamic performance under various flight regimes. All aspects of the CFD process which include: cleaning up geometry, making meshes, setting up boundary conditions, monitoring solution convergence and post processes results. Ensure the quality of Aero/Fluids team products meets the technical excellence standards Collaborate closely with other relevant disciplines/IPTs, e.g. Flight Analysis, Structures, Propulsion, Integration and test, etc. Communicate effectively and clearly; present technical approaches and findings to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders. Experience using CAD software to clean up geometry for CFD. Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering Understanding of ablation, boundary layer transition, acoustics, plasma and other complex reacting flow phenomenon. 1 year of experience developing aerodynamic models, tools, databases using Matlab, Python, C++ or similar for integration into 3/6DOF simulations. 1 year of experience with analytical aerodynamic design tools, e.g. Missile DATCOM or similar. Experience analyzing wind tunnel test data and flight test results for verification and validation of models. Demonstrated experience working with Linux and Windows based HPC's for aero/fluids work. Involvement with the planning and execution of physical aerodynamics related testing applications such as wind tunnels or flight test validation including scheduling, test matrix and development of test items. Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Prior exposure to defense projects or working within regulated environments is highly desirable.
