This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports Sentinel and Advanced Programs (AP). \n\nWhat You Will Get To Do:\n\nAs an Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Aeronautical Engineer on the Aero/Fluids team you will be responsible for supporting the Aero/Fluids functional homeroom manager in guiding the execution and ensuring quality of the Aero/Fluids teamwork products across Sentinel and Advanced Programs. \n\nPosition Responsibilities Include:\n\n * Conduct high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to accurately predict missile aerodynamic performance under various flight regimes.\n\n * All aspects of the CFD process which include: cleaning up geometry, making meshes, setting up boundary conditions, monitoring solution convergence and post processes results.\n\n * Ensure the quality of Aero/Fluids team products meets the technical excellence standards\n\n * Collaborate closely with other relevant disciplines/IPTs, e.g. Flight Analysis, Structures, Propulsion, Integration and test, etc.\n\n * Communicate effectively and clearly; present technical approaches and findings to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.\n\n\n\n\nPosition Benefits:\n\nAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:\n\n * Medical, Dental \u0026 Vision coverage\n * 401k\n * Educational Assistance\n * Life Insurance\n * Employee Assistance Programs \u0026 Work/Life Solutions\n * Paid Time Off\n * Health \u0026 Wellness Resources\n * Employee Discounts\n\n\n\n \nThis positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.\n\nYou Will Bring These Qualifications:\n\n * CFD Aeronautical Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 1 year with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree\n\n * Active In Scope DoD Secret Security Clearance with a re-investigation within 6 years\n\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.\n\n * Deep understanding of fluid dynamics principles, aerodynamic theory, and numerical methods used in various types of simulation (Subsonic, supersonic, hypersonic, and rarefied flow.).\n\n * 2 years of experience with commercial CFD codes such as CFD++, StarCCM+, or ANSYS. Fluent including meshing, running cases, and post processing results in Tecplot.\n\n * Strong communication skills and ability to work across IPTs.\n\n * Experience using CAD software to clean up geometry for CFD.\n\n * Demonstrated technical writing experience in both authoring and reviewing formal analysis documentation.\n\n * Strong oral and written communication skills.\n\n\n\n\nThese Qualifications Are Nice To Have:\n\n * Master\u0027s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering\n\n * Understanding of ablation, boundary layer transition, acoustics, plasma and other complex reacting flow phenomenon.\n\n * 1 year of experience developing aerodynamic models, tools, databases using Matlab, Python, C++ or similar for integration into 3/6DOF simulations.\n\n * 1 year of experience with analytical aerodynamic design tools, e.g. Missile DATCOM or similar.\n\n * Experience analyzing wind tunnel test data and flight test results for verification and validation of models.\n\n * Demonstrated experience working with Linux and Windows based HPC\u0027s for aero/fluids work.\n\n * Involvement with the planning and execution of physical aerodynamics related testing applications such as wind tunnels or flight test validation including scheduling, test matrix and development of test items.\n\n * Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences\n\n * Prior exposure to defense projects or working within regulated environments is highly desirable.\n\n * DoD Top Secret Clearance. \n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
