Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) Engineer. This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The successful candidate will join the Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) team in Roy, UT and contribute to the successful development of the world’s most advanced weapon system in one or more of the following ways:
Defining NH&S environments
Radiation transport modeling and simulation
Radiation effects circuit analysis
Ground shock and thermal effects analysis
Effects of electromagnetic pulses on electronics
NHS qualification testing and analysis of semiconductors
NHS qualification testing and analysis of the GBSD systems, subsystems and equipment
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree.
Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
1+ years’ experience in radiation effects testing, electromagnetic pulse testing (EMP) or environmental testing on electronics
Basic digital/analog semiconductor performance test and analysis experience
Understanding of circuit modeling (SPICE, PSPICE, LTSPICE) techniques and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or physics
Experience in embedded hardware and software qualification testing for circuit card assemblies and subassemblies
Familiarity with MIL-STD-1766
Familiarity with MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, and/or MIL-STD-461
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to execute to a program schedule
Weapon System experience (Sentinel, Minuteman III, or similar military or industry experience)
Master’s degree in Electrical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited institution

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
