Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support the Program Technical Integration (PTI) team, within SEIT PE\u0026O on the Sentinel Program. This position can be located in Roy, UT, Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL. \n \nWhat You\u2019ll Get To Do:\n\n * Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.\n * Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.\n * Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.\n * Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.\n\n\n\nThe selected candidate will be responsible for participating in all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). This role is highly visible with an executive presence, and candidates must have an ability to work well with high level NG and government customers. The candidate must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic environment with competing priorities and possess the ability to support the team in an agile manner.\n\n \nThe selected candidate will demonstrate technical skills, organization, be an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate. They will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the program as required to accomplish tasking. \n \nBasic Qualifications: \nThis requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04). \n \nPrincipal Systems Engineer:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience; Masters degree and 3 years experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.\n * 3+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Principles\n * 3+ years of experience utilizing program management, engineering, or software configuration skills\n * 2+ years of experience leading projects or cross functional teams\n * 1+ years of Systems Engineering experience on a DoD Sustainment/Development contract\n * 1+ years of experience supporting Agile practices and the Atlassian/JIRA suite\n\n\n\n \nSr. Principal Systems Engineer:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree from an accredited university with 8 years of related experience; Masters degree and 6 years experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree.\n * 5+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Principles.\n * 5+ years of experience utilizing program management, engineering, or software configuration skills.\n * 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience on a Sustainment/Development DoD contract.\n * 3+ years of experience leading projects or cross functional teams.\n * 2+ years of experience supporting Agile practices and the Atlassian/JIRA suite.\n * 1+ years of experience with Basis of Estimate (BOE) development and modification.\n\n\n\n \nRequired for Both Levels:\n\n * Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.\n * Must have SAP approval upon start.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Active DOD Top Secret clearance, SAP, and/or SCI access\n * ICBM Experience (MMIII or Sentinel)\n * Understanding of the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test processes on the Sentinel Program\n * General understanding of Engineering Review Board Processes\n * Program management skills: Earned Value Management and Control Account Management experience\n * Cost Account Management/Control Account Management Certifications\n * Competent with Basis of Estimate (BOE) development and modifications\n * Very strong data analysis skills: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with IMS critical path(s)\n * Strong interpersonal skills: Cross-IPT collaboration experience; excellent written and verbal communication skills\n * Experience leading complex projects/assignments on large DoD contracts\n * Comfortable briefing leadership and providing status both down and in and up and out\n * Experience identifying risk and opportunities to program schedule\n\n\n\nAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including: \n\n * Medical, Dental \u0026 Vision coverage \n * 401k \n * Educational Assistance \n * Life Insurance \n * Employee Assistance Programs \u0026 Work/Life Solutions \n * Paid Time Off \n * Health \u0026 Wellness Resources \n * Employee Discounts \n\n\n\nThis position\u2019s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.\n\n#Sentinelsystems\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
