Position Summary We are looking for a data-driven and detail-oriented SEO & Digital Coordinator to bridge the gap between technical search strategy and front-end web management. This role is perfect for someone who lives in the world of search rankings but also has the "soft" web skills to jump into a CMS and make updates themselves. You will be responsible for the health of our organic search presence, the management of local listings (Google Business Profile), and ensuring website content is optimized and functional for Stratum Marketing clients. This role follows a hybrid schedule in Champaign, Illinois, with three onsite days each week and two days working remotely.
Key Responsibilities 1. SEO & Content Optimization
Conduct keyword research to identify growth opportunities and guide content strategy.
Perform regular On-Page SEO audits (meta tags, headers, internal linking, and image alt-text).
Monitor site health and "soft" technical SEO issues using tools like Google Search Console and Semrush/Ahrefs (e.g., fixing 404s, redirect chains, and sitemap errors).
Track, analyze, and report on organic traffic performance and keyword rankings.
2. Local SEO & Listing Management
Own the Google Business Profile (GBP) strategy: regularly update photos, posts, and business hours.
Monitor and manage online reputation by responding to reviews and ensuring NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across the web.
Manage third-party listing aggregators (e.g., Yext, BrightLocal) to ensure local data accuracy.
3. "Soft" Web Management
Execute website updates within the CMS (WordPress, Webflow, etc.), including landing page creation and blog formatting.
Communicate with the technical dev team for complex backend issues while handling "front-of-glass" fixes (basic HTML/CSS adjustments) independently.
Ensure all web content follows brand guidelines and UX best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years in SEO or Digital Marketing.
Search Tools: Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and SEO platforms (Ahrefs, Semrush, or Moz).
Local SEO Mastery: Proven track record of managing multi-location Google Business Profiles.
CMS Familiarity: Experience managing content in various CMS’s. Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS is a major plus but not required.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to turn raw data into actionable insights for the broader marketing team.
Communication: Strong writing skills for both SEO copywriting and professional review responses.
