Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Inventory Control Supervisor, perform delivery and warehouse duties to include: food inspection, receiving, storage, counting, picking, packing, staging, shipping, delivery, and stocking in Food & Beverage storage areas. Responsible for equipment maintenance and housekeeping duties to a safe, clean, and orderly work environment. Perform data entry and maintenance of inventory software. Perform all assigned duties of an Inventory Control Warehouser, with the additional responsibilities of transporting goods and operating vehicles that require Chauffer`s designation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate all warehouse equipment, delivery vans, and box trucks in accordance with safe operating procedures, including maintenance of an Industrial Truck Operator Permit, Tribal Driver`s License, DOT Physical Certificate, and Chauffer`s License at a minimum; report any accident/damage.
  • Receive products from vendors and delivery companies; store products to maximize space while utilizing proper handling/safety techniques, including quality and freshness inspection of all incoming and outgoing products.
  • Deliver and move product from the loading dock to the appropriate revenue center; pick and prepare shipping orders to meet shipping cutoff times in an accurate manner; process orders according to all regulatory standards.
  • Transport mail, interoffice mail, and other items between SCIT properties.
  • Stock and rotate the daily delivery in each outlet to include properly staging and documenting outgoing products, as well as loading, driving, and unloading the product.
  • Return customer-refused products, including restocking incorrect picks, notifying the supervisor or lead on returned items, wasted items, and unit size errors, as well as the correction of those errors.
  • Ensure FIFO methodology is followed when performing all tasks on a daily basis.
  • Support scheduled physical inventories and assist in research, auditing, and data entry.
  • Ensure Inventory software is maintained with the most current data; ensure all transactions are properly documented, accurate, and completed.
  • Complete truck inspection at the start of every shift, including any seasonal requirements (snow removal, ice, etc.); report vehicle defects in the vehicle log and to shift supervisor.
  • Conduct daily power equipment inspection to ensure s compliance with all company safety standards.
  • Assist in the daily general maintenance and cleanup of all work areas and non-work areas such as break room and bathrooms; perform equipment maintenance and cleaning.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with the Inventory Controller and Supervisors for daily and overall direction; all other SELC, SECR, and SCIT team members as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems.
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Skill in operating warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
  • Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend, and reach with arms and hands.
  • Work under high volume and stressful situations.
  • Required to climb up and down ladders.
  • Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Normal warehouse environment and temperate control environments, including freezers for extended periods of time.
  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino, and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Frequent walking throughout all SCIT properties.
  • Continuous work in, around, and with powered warehouse equipment including Reach Trucks, Powered Pallet jacks, Manual Pallet Jacks, Sit Down Fork Lift, Floor Scrubber, and Box truck.
  • Possible exposure to various chemicals.
  • Drive in adverse weather conditions.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

 

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in driving vehicles and rigs that require a Chauffers Drivers license.
  • Experience with operating warehouse equipment including forklifts and riding cleaning machines.
  • Experience on stand-up or sit-down forklifts or ability to be certified within 90-days of hire/transfer.
  • Must have good communication skills, good computer skills with Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle tasks in a busy environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


Desired Qualifications:

  • One year receiving or warehouse experience working with warehouse equipment.
  • Food handling experience.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must obtain Fork Lift certification within ninety (90) days of hire/transfer.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Chauffeur`s License.
  • Must have a valid DOT physical card.
  • Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver`s License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties, and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Driver`s License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
