Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the SECR Revenue Audit Manager, audit the Slot system, W2Gs, Title 31 paperwork, Bingo, Table Games, Entertainment, Marketing Promotions, Kiosk, Vault and Cage and Food & Beverage outlet transactions. There are 5 different groups of auditors. Auditors are assigned to a specific area but may be cross-trained to assist in more than one area. This position applies to Soaring Eagle and Saganing Eagles Landing Casinos.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Balance the computer generated (metered) data with the manual data imported through the audit process.
  • Research and account for any drop variances.
  • Reconcile the daily net win report to cumulative totals.
  • Distribute audit reports to Management.
  • Complete quarterly Finance Key audit.
  • Verify table games fills, credits, and opening and closing inventory in the table games, bingo and pull tabs
  • Reconcile computer information to physical paperwork from vault and count team and all revenue sources. Make any changes and corrections as needed.
  • Account for all promos used on the table.
  • Maintain and balance the spreadsheet for the Bad Beat progressive and promotional pots; provide information to table games each day for posting.
  • Perform a reconciliation of all finance vaults, cages, and revenue sources within the casino.
  • Perform audits for variances in excess of $100 as requested by Finance Managers and Supervisors.
  • Verify for payroll and each department the amount of tips received through vault for Dealers, Valet, Finance, Slots and Bingo each week.
  • Verify and submit the daily credit card batches.
  • Research and provide documentation to F & B and Hotel for room charge and credit card disputes.


W2G Auditing Functions:

  • Review, edit, and file all W2Gs for Slots, Bingo and Table Games. Enter any manual W2Gs into the Slot jackpot program.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for Bingo, Table Games and Poker winnings to import into Magfiler for transmission to the IRS and distribute 1099s at year end.
  • Responsible for completing 1042 forms and giving the Gaming Accountant all tax withheld paperwork for 945s and 1042s so that the tax can be submitted in a timely manner.


Title 31 Auditing Functions:

  • Work in conjunction with the Title 31 Compliance Officer/Comp Analyst to review tracking schedules, W2G reports, and other documentation in order to file CTRs in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Review and file all non-gaming comps.
  • Work with Slot Department associates to update the slot system and verify slot machine changes on the casino floor.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and check in paperwork from the casino floor; distribute to the correct audit area.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with Accountants, Controller and Accounting Managers through preparation and submitting of reports.
  • Contact with Supervisors of revenue outlets. Work with the Revenue departments of Slots, Table Games, Bingo, Entertainment, Food & Beverage and Hotel. Also work with Finance, Marketing, Compliance, Security and Surveillance. All contact is for the purpose of retrieving or providing information in order to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the audit process.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing procedures and financial systems.
  • Knowledge of auditing and record-keeping practices.
  • Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
  • Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to handle stressful and busy situations.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer operation.
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch while performing duties.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally lift and carry boxes or bags of paperwork and push a cart containing paperwork up to 20 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior bookkeeping or cashiering experience, preferably in the gaming setting.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
