Server Job Summary:

The Grille Room, Rotunda, and attached Terrace are our main dining areas at Westwood Country Club. You would serve in these areas. The menu varies from $15 burgers to $45 prime NY strips, and our servers can effectively handle both semi-casual family settings and more formal dining experiences.

It is everyone’s job at Westwood to serve our members and their guests, but specifically, it is the server’s job to attend tables, recommend food and drink, take orders, and serve product. You will...

• Welcome members and their guests inside and outside of your section
• Have a firm understanding of the food and drink menus, while being able to make recommendations for both
• Take diners’ food and drink orders
• Communicate effectively with tables, as well as staff to ensure a positive member experience
• Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly
• Assist with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant
• Set tables and rearrange the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Do what is necessary to maintain your workspace: polish glasses and silverware, , and stock and restock juices, milks, etc.
• Embody service and hospitality, creating a welcoming environment for patrons
• Understand the Westwood standards and work towards serving the member experience

Requirements

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

• Server experience, especially at a club or similar establishment
• Can communicate effectively, describing both drinks and food items
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism, cleanliness, and neatness
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Can remain standing for several hours straight and easily carry about 20 pounds
• Flexible schedule (Nights, weekends, some holidays)
• Wine pairing expertise (Preferred)
• High school graduate or equivalent (Preferred)
