Server - Full Time

The Universal Dining Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to residents and guests. This position requires excellent customer service skills, knowledge of departmental standards, and the ability to enhance satisfaction levels. The Universal Dining Server is responsible for serving food and beverages in a professional and timely manner across various dining venues on the campus. They must be flexible and adaptable to work in different outlets as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Serve meals to residents in their rooms and dining areas, following regulations regarding special diets.
  


• Set up meal trays and dining rooms according to instructions.
  


• Distribute and collect menus, familiarize oneself with menu items and their preparation.
  


• Perform daily cleaning duties to ensure cleanliness and smooth operation of the meal service, including cleaning work tables, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out garbage, and maintaining hazard-free work areas.
  


• Restock food and supplies for upcoming meal services.
  


• Clear and reset tables.
  


• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring availability of utensils for the next meal.
  


• Record food and dish machine water temperatures, notifying the manager of any discrepancies.
  


• Transfer food from the main kitchen to the work area.
  


• Use a computer to process and submit checks in the POS system.
  


• Adhere to the company's dress code, maintaining a neat and clean uniform and following proper personal hygiene, including wearing a hair net.

Schedule:

• 3PM - 7:30PM (part-time)

Required Education and Experience:

• Some High School education.
  


• Prior experience in a related food service position is preferred.
  


• Possess a customer service background and orientation.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The Universal Dining Server works in a food service environment with loud noise levels. There may be hazards such as cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. The position involves 100% standing, as well as walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting up to 30 pounds, and pushing/pulling a cart weighing up to 100 pounds.
