DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure Service Department growth and profitability.
- Understand and ensure compliance with all International and vendor polices and warranty procedures.
- Review and authorize all Service Department outside purchases charged tot the Service Department or a customer repair order.
- Review warranty performance statements monthly.
- Review warranty charge backs with Warranty Administrator weekly.
- Review the over 660 days warranty debits weekly to ensure payment.
- Review C.O.D. repair orders to ensure the vehicle and keys are on the premises.
- Attend International’s Parts and Service Managers annual meeting.
- Maintain high quality service repairs to minimize comebacks.
- Ensure that all work is fairly and equally assigned.
- Investigate the progress of vehicle completion by conducting periodic spot checks of all jobs throughout the day to ensure timely repairs, quality workmanship, and cleanliness in a safety sensitive shop environment.
- Keep abreast of all warranty policies and product changes to maintain effectiveness in this role.
- Provide current manufacturer’s vendor training courses for technicians and service employees.
- Review random completed repair orders, noting technician comments, technician sigh off, repair completion, and road test completion (requires climbing in and out of trucks as needed).
- Understand and keep abreast of all federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in all service areas.
- Ensure that current and required tools are purchased as necessary (may require lifting of parts from one area to another).
- Oversee Technicians day to day and hold monthly staff and technician meetings.
- Explain completed work and charges to the customer as required.
- Plan daily collision repair production schedule to maximize efficiency and maintain cycle time goals.
- Run production meeting to communicate priorities to technicians.
- Perform in-process quality control checks to ensure company standards are met.
- Immediately identify and address any quality issues or production delays.
- Perform final quality inspection prior to delivery of the vehicle to the customer.
ACTIVITY AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Employee safety is a prime concern of RWC. This position is a safety sensitive position and falls under the requirements of the RWC Drug and Alcohol policy.
