Job Description - Service Controls Tech

Job description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Controls System Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in controls database management, graphics development, programming, and more. Your duties will include ensuring accurate start-up and commissioning of systems, troubleshooting installation issues, and offering support to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will contribute to estimating, design, and training efforts, as well as assist in maintaining documentation and providing ongoing service support. Travel may be required based on project needs.

Level Descriptions:

Level 1: Must achieve many position objectives with some supervision. Requires effective communication and task completion skills.

Level 2: Consistently achieves all position objectives. Provides mentoring and supervision to Level 1 positions.

Senior: Highly experienced with advanced technical knowledge in controls system programming and HVAC strategies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide controls database, graphics, and programming for sequences as directed.

Conduct system start-up, commissioning, and point-to-point checkout.

Support installation personnel and provide assistance to other contractors on-site.

Debug installation issues and provide support to resolve building operating issues.

Assist in estimation, design, installation, and training for building systems.

Complete documentation and ensure timely software backups.

Provide service support on existing installations and systems.

Assist in preparing as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

Assist Sales team during estimating phase and potential demonstrations.

Travel to job sites as necessary for start-up, commissioning, and project assistance.

Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum high school diploma; technical degree preferred.

Experience with computer operating systems, MS Office Suite, and networking.

Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting electronic equipment.

Ability to interpret electrical and electronic diagrams.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Understanding of HVAC operations within facilities.

Familiarity with DDC or special systems controlling buildings.

Experience with Tridium, Alerton, and Distech systems is a plus but not required.

Essential Functions:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, climb stairs, and spend time standing on construction sites.

Maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Physically able to kneel, stoop, and crawl.

Compensation:

$100,000 - $120,000 per year depending on experience and a successful interview.
