Position Summary:
Responsible for overall day to day management and supervision of SPOE referral unit. Ensuring that children/families receive timely, high quality referral, evaluation/assessment/eligibility determination with accurate documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Ongoing coordination of efforts with DOH and SPOE managers in other regions
Oversee SPOE referral unit management procedures (calls are answered/returned promptly in accordance with DOH timelines; tracking priority calls, ensuring phone coverage during business hours)
Responsible for problem solving on a case by case basic with SPOE SC/SCAs and REIC Director.
Responsible for close supervision of staff including conducting ongoing meetings for review of cases, DOH updates, and training.
Supervise and monitor staff on an ongoing basis.
Coordinate and develop meeting agenda/minutes with REIC Director on an ongoing basis to update staff and trouble shoot.
Continuous streamlining of department wherever possible with review and approval of REIC Director
Develop and follow procedures for maintenance of records, family call backs, etc
Responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely completion, tracking and submission of all materials to appropriate programs.
Demonstrate knowledge of state eligibility criteria and ability to interpret information to line staff and families when needed.
Demonstrates knowledge of the functions of various evaluation/assessment procedures and instruments
Oversee accuracy and updating County Tracking Sheets for assigned counties
Conduct and document case reviews, including review of records for accuracy and timeliness.
Interact and problem solve with referral sources such as DCP&P, SCHS, child care agencies, physician offices, hospitals, etc.
Work directly with TET coordinators when unique circumstances arise.
Participates in TET and REIC provider meetings by preparing and presenting items related to SPOE referral.
Evaluate subordinate employees. Provide ongoing guidance and supervision.
Manages staff coverage and time off requests to ensure adequate coverage is always available.
Other duties may be assigned.
Working Conditions:
There are no unusual work conditions associated with this position. Noise level in the office is moderate. Professional/business attire is required. Employees are occasionally required to attend meetings at external locations and will therefore experience external weather conditions.
Requirements
Education: Must meet one of the NJEIS Personnel Standards. Minimum of a bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university. Masters preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years experience as a service coordinator and/or practitioner within an early childhood setting (birth to five years) or other agency serving young children and their families. Management experience preferred.
Computer proficiency required with Microsoft programs including Windows and Office. Strong interpersonal & oral/written communication skills required.
Valid Driver’s license with the ability to provide proof of ongoing automobile insurance coverage is required. This position will entail reimbursable local and statewide travel utilizing personal vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent typing. You will also be required to occasionally lift up to twenty pounds of materials or equipment.
